Patent Application in Guyana

Guyana is not a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). Applications can be filed through a local attorney. A power of attorney signed by the applicant and two witnesses is required. Three copies of the specification documents must be provided. The relationship between the applicant and the inventor must be declared. If a patent has already been obtained in the United Kingdom, a signed copy of the patent must be provided.
