Before a trademark application is filed, the registrability of your trademark should be researched. The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) does not register trademarks that are very difficult to distinguish from others and may cause confusion among consumers. Moreover, even if TÜRKPATENT accepts your trademark application, it remains published in the Official Trademark Bulletin for 3 months, during which owners of similar trademarks may file an opposition. That is why a preliminary search before filing, to identify potential risks, is vital.
