A) Search and examination period

The search and examination on absolute grounds by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT) takes about 8–9 months on average. If there is no obstacle to the application and the examination is favorable, the trademark is published in the Official Trademark Bulletin.

B) Publication period in the Official Trademark Bulletin

The statutory publication period in the Trademark Bulletin is 3 months. During this period, other trademark owners are informed, and owners of similar trademarks can exercise their right of opposition. If no opposition is filed, the application proceeds to the registration stage.

C) Registration stage

If no opposition is filed, any missing documents and unpaid fees are completed within the statutory periods set by TÜRKPATENT. The “Trademark Registration Certificate” is issued within 3–4 months on average.
