Trademark Registration

In Türkiye, the rules on trademark registration are set out in Decree-Law No. 556 on the Protection of Trademarks. The competent authority for trademark registration in Türkiye is the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TÜRKPATENT). You can carry out your trademark application and registration procedures before TÜRKPATENT through authorized trademark attorneys. Bilim Patent is authorized as a legal entity to act as a trademark and patent attorney before TÜRKPATENT.

Trademark registration is completed in 4 main stages.

First, your trademark undergoes a preliminary search by our experienced trademark consultants;

your trademark application is then prepared and filed with TÜRKPATENT;

after approximately 6–7 months, TÜRKPATENT accepts your trademark and publishes it in the Official Trademark Bulletin for 3 months;

once the publication period is over, registration is granted if no opposition has been filed or if TÜRKPATENT rejects the oppositions filed against your trademark. Trademarks are registered for 10 years and can be renewed every 10 years an unlimited number of times.
