Aruba is not a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). Two copies of the specification documents must be provided. A notarized power of attorney is required. Patent protection is divided into two types: the small patent and the large patent. A small patent provides 6 years of protection and a large patent 20 years. No novelty search is carried out for small patents.
