Patent
Costa Rica is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. Applications can be filed via the PCT or by appointing an attorney resident in Costa Rica. A Spanish translation of the specification must be submitted. A notarized power of attorney is required. If priority is claimed, the priority document must be submitted in certified form.
