Panama is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 30 months. A local attorney must be appointed in the country. A Spanish translation of the full specification is required. A notarized power of attorney is required. In addition, the authenticity of the power of attorney must be certified by the consulate or by apostille.
