Design
A notarized power of attorney is required. A description of each design to be registered must be submitted, and it must be in Georgian. 5 images or drawings of each design must be submitted. Several designs in the same class can be combined in a multiple application. A formal examination is carried out first. A request for examination must be filed within 2 weeks after the formal examination. The design is published after it has been examined by the Georgian Patent Office. Third parties may file an opposition during the publication period. Design protection lasts 5 years. This term can be extended 5 times, providing up to 25 years of protection.
