A design registration is valid for 10 years from the filing date. In addition to the 10 years, it can be renewed for 5-year periods, providing a total of 15 years of protection. Bahrain is a party to the Paris Convention. Priority can be claimed within 6 months of the filing date. The application requires a power of attorney notarized and legalized by the consulate. If the applicant's country is a party to the Hague Apostille Convention, it is sufficient to send the apostilled documents to the Bahrain Industrial Property and Patent Office. At least three images are required for each design.
