Patent
Sudan is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. A power of attorney notarized and legalized by the consulate must be submitted. The trade registry record must be submitted in English or Arabic and notarized. The full specification must be submitted in Arabic. The term of patent protection is 20 years.
Utility Model
The requirements are the same as for patents. The term of utility model protection is 10 years.
