Morocco is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. A simply signed power of attorney must be provided. For applications by legal entities, however, a notarized power of attorney is required. The specification documents must be provided in French or Arabic, in 3 copies. If priority is claimed, the priority document must be provided within 3 months, in French and notarized. Patent protection lasts 20 years. Annuities must be paid every year on the month and day corresponding to the filing date.
