China is a member of the Paris Convention and uses the international Nice Classification for the list of goods and services in trademark registrations. The trademark is published in the official bulletin for 3 months, during which third parties may file oppositions. Trademarks that have not been used for 5 years can be cancelled through a cancellation action. Registration is completed within 15–16 months in total. A separate application must be filed for each class. The priority document must be submitted within 2 months. Trademark protection lasts 10 years. Renewal can be made at the end of the 10-year term.
