Italy is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. A simply signed power of attorney is required. The term of patent protection is 20 years.
Utility Model
Utility model protection is available. Utility model protection lasts 10 years. To maintain protection, the annual fees for the following 5 years must be paid in a lump sum in the 5th year.
