Patent
Slovenia is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. By the 9th year of the patent application, written documentation must be submitted on the novelty of the invention, its inventive step over the state of the art and its industrial applicability. Patent protection lasts 20 years.
Utility model
The requirements are the same as for patents. Utility model protection lasts 10 years.
