Kosovo is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 30 months. A simply signed power of attorney must be submitted. Applications by legal entities require a company stamp. An application can be filed directly on the basis of a registration from the EPO or from any country party to the European Patent Convention. The Kosovo patent office issues a grant decision directly. The term of patent protection is 20 years.
