Ukraine is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. For Arab and Turkish nationals, a simply signed power of attorney is required. For other nationals, a notarized power of attorney must be provided. The term of patent protection is 20 years. If the applicant and the inventor are not the same person, a declaration must be provided.
Utility model
The requirements are the same as for patents. Utility model protection lasts 10 years. For Arab and Turkish nationals, a simply signed power of attorney is required. For other nationals, a notarized power of attorney must be provided.
