Patent
Poland is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 30 months. A simply signed power of attorney is required. The term of patent protection is 20 years. If the application involves a special case, such as a patent of addition or a secret patent, this must be stated at the time of filing. If the priority document has not been published in English, French, German or Russian, it must be translated into one of these languages by a sworn translator.
Utility Model
Utility models are available. The same requirements as for patents also apply to utility models.
