Patent
Montenegro is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). A simply signed power of attorney is required. The term of patent protection is 20 years. If the specification is not in Montenegrin, it must be submitted together with a notarized translation. If priority is claimed, the priority document must be submitted with a notarized translation within 3 months of the filing date.
Utility Model
Utility model protection lasts 10 years. The requirements are the same as for patents.
