Romania is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 30 months. A simply signed power of attorney is required. The term of patent protection is 20 years. A simply signed power of attorney is required. Four copies of the description and its two drawing files are required. If a priority document is used, an English, German or French translation is required. If the applicant is not the inventor, an assignment document and a declaration by the inventor in favor of the applicant are required. If the applicant is not in Romania, a local attorney resident in Romania must be appointed.
Utility Model
The term of utility model protection is 10 years. The requirements are the same as for patents.
