Patent
The United Kingdom is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. Two copies of the specification must be submitted. If the applicant and the inventor are different, the relationship between them must be stated. If priority is claimed, the priority document must be submitted within two months of the filing date. Claims can be filed within 12 months after the description is submitted. Patent protection lasts 20 years.
