Pakistan is not a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). Applications can be filed through a local attorney in the country. The term of patent protection is 20 years. A notarized power of attorney is required. If the inventor and the applicant are different, an agreement on the assignment of rights must be submitted.
