Patent
Saudi Arabia is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 30 months. A power of attorney notarized and legalized by the consulate is required. The full specification must be submitted in Arabic or English. If the applicant and the inventor are different, a declaration explaining the relationship between them must be submitted. The term of patent protection is 20 years. Annuities must be paid within the first 3 months of each year.
