Uzbekistan is a member of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT). The deadline for entering the national phase via the PCT is 31 months. A notarized power of attorney must be submitted. If priority is claimed, the priority document must be submitted within 3 months of the filing date. If the applicant is not resident in Uzbekistan, a local attorney resident in Uzbekistan must be appointed. The term of patent protection is 20 years.
